Basildon, Billericay and Wickford Council for Voluntary Service is the main support and development organisation for the voluntary and community sector in Basildon District. BBWCVS is in contact with a wide range of organisations covering a broad spectrum of interests, including: specialist groups concerned with older people, the disabled, ethnic minorities, learning disabilities, health and mental health, women and children, youth, advice and counselling, community groups. We are also in regular contact with statutory agencies including, District and County Councils, Social Services, the Police and Primary Care Trusts. BBWCVS has a membership of approx. 140 organisations that choose to benefit directly from our services, paying a small annual fee according to their funding status. They receive amongst other things, uptodate information on funding and developments in the district. They also get regular mailouts, newsletters and invitations to community functions where they can meet representatives from other groups and network locally.
