This Association was established in 1926 as the Billericay Residents Association, and merged in 1962 with the Buttsbury Residents Association to create its present form. During the 1970s the Association held all nine Billericay seats on Basildon District Council. The Association has 6,700 Billericay households in membership, and has a committee structure based on the three electoral wards, with an executive committee. The principal objectives of the Association. The Association shall be nonparty political and nonsectarian. To represent and protect the interests of residents of Billericay, work to improve the quality of life in Billericay and work for the benefit of the people of Billericay.
