Originally the business was started in the 1960s, located in the house of Ophthalmologist Dr. W.H.Clarke, where the sight testing was carried out in the dining room meal times were interesting Later, the house was extended to provide a purpose built surgery and a visiting dispensing optician attended to supply spectacles.In 1985 Paul Clarke took over the dispensing side of the practice, and in September of the same year we moved to our present location in Riverview, Chadwell St. Mary, Essex.Dr. Clarke retired in 1996, after a long and distinguished career working at Orsett, Oldchurh, and the old Tilbury Hospitals. As an independent practice we are able to provide a wide range of spectacles and lenses to suit the needs of most people.
