Debras background in the fashion industry started in 1976, working within the wholesale district of Great Portland Street in Londons west end, followed closely by opening her own UK manufacturing wholesalers in that area, supplying discerning independent retailers with evening & party dresses for all ages, in those days it was a difficult barrier to cross age spans & appeal to all. This experience of learning to cross age groups whilst keeping all customers feeling & looking trendy was the catalyst for the first shop opened in 1982. Debra remembers thinking at the time that there was no logic in mothers going to one shop & daughters another, retailing was very pigeonholed back then.
